Transportation Department Launches Robotics Competition

The “DOT Bots Challenge” is investing in American innovation to use robotics to improve the nation’s transportation systems.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) launched the DOT Bots Challenge competition for ideas on how robotics can transform U.S. transportation networks. The $1.5 million investment seeks to encourage innovation in the use of cutting-edge technology for transportation improvements.

“From supersonic flight to autonomous vehicles to delivery drones, American innovation is already reshaping how we think about transportation,” said Secretary Sean Duffy. “To ensure America stays ahead of the race, we have to invest in our country’s best and brightest ideas – including robotics. I encourage all innovators to take advantage of this exciting opportunity and join the challenge. Together, we will revolutionize our roads, runways and railroads.”

The submission deadline for submissions from eligible participants is August 10, 2026.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Duffy to be discerning as he facilitates robotics innovation for the future of U.S. transportation.
  • For U.S. transportation officials as they review submissions for the robotics competition.
